DAW Tuner – Windows Audio Workstation Script Generator

Generate a tuning script + rollback script for Windows 10/11, tailored to your machine role, hardware, and DAW use — without hand-editing the registry.

DAW Tuner is built for Windows audio workstation users chasing more stable ASIO behavior, fewer dropouts and crackles, better audio interface stability, and a safer rollback path than manual tweak lists and scattered registry edits.

How this version works
Core DAW-friendly defaults are chosen automatically based on whether the system is dedicated, mixed-use, or a laptop. More controversial service and troubleshooting tweaks are optional, display sleep is a user choice, and the DAW power plan name can now be user-defined.
How to use this page:
  1. Choose your system role first: dedicated, mixed-use, or laptop.
  2. Fill in your system details and DAW.
  3. Leave optional / advanced tweaks on Role default unless you have a reason to change them.
  4. Choose your preferred display sleep on AC behavior.
  5. Set a power plan name, or leave it blank to auto-build from CPU + GPU + computer name.
  6. Use Detect / Compare first if you want a standalone audit script, or go straight to Generate.

CPU/GPU “model” fields are for your notes and the script header only. The dropdowns and options below control how the generated script behaves.

Machine profile
Dedicated = most audio-focused defaults. Mixed-use = more conservative. Laptop = conservative and avoids forcing aggressive battery-side behavior.
System identity (labels only)
Goes into the script header for your reference.
Also header only; use GPU type below for behavior.
Core tuning inputs
Example: i3 / older i5 laptop → Light. i7-8700 / Ryzen 5–7 desktop → Medium. Ryzen 9 / i9 / 12700KF / Threadripper → Heavy.
OS & DAW
This does not change the script directly; it tailors the advice text on the results page.
This controls monitor sleep only, not system sleep. Dedicated defaults to Never; mixed-use and laptop default to Leave as-is.
Use a unique name if you want a clearly separate DAW plan. If you reuse an existing visible name, the tuner will try to reuse that plan. If left blank, DAW Tuner builds the name from CPU + GPU + %COMPUTERNAME%.
Optional service reductions
Use these only if you want them.
These are not part of the core recommended path anymore. They are best suited to dedicated or tightly managed systems.
Advanced / troubleshooting toggles
Advanced means advanced.
Leave these on Role default unless you are testing a specific problem or already know why you want the change.
Detect / compare builds a standalone audit script only. Generate builds the tuning + rollback scripts.
Disclaimer (read this): The generated script makes system-level changes to Windows power, services, and registry settings. It is intended for technically comfortable users who understand the difference between core DAW defaults, optional service reductions, and advanced troubleshooting tweaks.

Always:
  • Create a system restore point before running the script.
  • Save and keep the generated rollback script in a safe place.
  • Review the generated script in a text editor before applying it.
